Frequently Asked Questions
Wizard Paws is committed to breeding quality and temperament into our AKC Boston Terriers, French Bulldogs, and Frenchtons. I know adding a puppy to your family is an important life event and a big investment. Here's everything you need to know about the dogs in our care.
What is a Frenchton?
The Frenchton is a mixed breed dog — a cross between the Boston Terrier and French Bulldog breeds. Sturdy, sociable, playful, and chill, these dogs inherit some of the best qualities from both of their parents.
Frenchtons are also called Frenchbo, Faux Frenchbo, and Froston.
Are Your Breeds Good with Kids and Other Pets?
Both French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers are known for their affectionate and friendly nature, making them excellent family pets. Proper socialization - exposure to kids and pets and all kinds of situations - from a young age is key to ensuring they get along as well as they can with children and pets.
How do I know my dog will be healthy?
I have been breeding AKC Boston Terriers for over seven years! All of our breeding parents are health tested for common health issues in Boston Terriers and French Bulldogs. Parents health test results are always available to prospective pet parents on request. If you adopt a puppy and your vet finds that it is medically unsound, we will refund your money or work to find you a new puppy upon the dog's return.
What kind of food do you feed your puppies?
All our puppies are weaned on Royal Canin Starter Ultra Soft Mousse in sauce (ST2). Royal Canin emphasizes nutritional precision and employs veterinarians, nutritionists, and researchers to formulate their products.

After puppies are used to this (after one week), they are switched over to Purina ProPlan Lamb and Rice formula for puppies. At first this dog food is puree'd with hot water and then eventually, the puppies are able to eat it as kibble.
How often do 8 week old puppies eat?
Three times a day. At 8 weeks of age, puppies are in a critical phase of rapid growth and development. They require a constant supply of nutrients to support the formation of bones, muscles, organs, and other tissues. Dividing their daily caloric intake into multiple meals ensures a consistent and steady supply of essential nutrients. Once puppies are about five or six months old they can move to eating twice a day.
What do I need to bring my puppy home?
Crate or Carrier
A crate or carrier is essential for safe and secure transportation. It also provides a cozy and comfortable space for your puppy to rest in during the initial journey home. We recommend a 24" crate for Boston Terrier Puppies, Frenchton Puppies and French Bulldog Puppies.
Bedding
Bring a soft and comfortable bed or blanket for your puppy to rest on. Familiar scents can help them feel more secure in their new environment.
Collar and Identification Tag:
Have a well-fitted collar for your puppy with an identification tag that includes your contact information. This is important for their safety, especially if you need to make stops on your way home.
Leash
A lightweight and appropriate-sized leash.
Food and Water Bowls
Puppy Food
Purina ProPlan Lamb and Rice formula for puppies.

Treats
Treats can be useful for positive reinforcement during training and to make your puppy feel rewarded and encouraged. Look for small lamb treats. Zesty Paws for Puppy is an Allergy and Immune Bite that may be a good treat for your pup. Don't give too many or this may be too much for them in the beginning of their journey with you.
Toys
Provide a selection of toys to keep your puppy entertained and engaged. Chew toys, squeaky toys, and interactive toys are popular choices.
Time and Patience
Perhaps the most important items on the list – be prepared to invest time, love, and patience in helping your puppy adjust to their new home.
