About Wizard Paws
Wizard Paws is a small in-home hobby breeder located near Williamsburg, Virginia. We breed AKC Boston Terriers, French Bulldogs, and Frenchtons for quality and temperament. We aim to provide loving families with quality puppies who make perfect family members.
Our Breeding Approach
At Wizard Paws, we take a careful and responsible approach to breeding. Our breeding program emphasizes our puppies' health, temperament, and conformation. We work hard to ensure that each litter is healthy and well-socialized, and we strive to produce puppies that meet the breed standards for their respective breeds.
Our Story
Wizard Paws is the careful work of accomplished dog breeder Jean Harnisch. Jean has been breeding Boston Terriers since 2017. Her love of the breed began with a sweet little Boston named Katrina. Katrina was her daughter's pup and followed her everywhere around the house, from the couch to the kitchen to the laundry room...she stuck like glue to her human.

Jean recognized that this companion breed was something special. After careful research, Jean acquired an AKC Boston Terrier from a fantastic breeder in Kentucky (Robyn Isaacs). She called her new baby Boston... Missy. Missy is still with Wizard Paws and is now the business matriarch and retired! Many happy clients have pups from Missy and her descendants. Her breeding line has continued with her son, Joe (Wizard Paws' leading Boston stud), and Missy's daughter, Midge.

​In 2023, after more careful research and education, Jean began to find quality AKC French Bulldogs from top breeders nationwide. 2024 was the year of the Frenchie with the first Frenchie litter from Marlee x Wizard! Jean is excited to start breeding AKC French Bulldogs and her AKC Boston Terriers in her home.
Jean is the sole owner and operator of Wizard Paws Puppies. By trade, Jean is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and began her career as a Dietitian about 40 years ago in the active US Army.

As a breeder, Jean at Wizard Paws AKC Boston Terriers, French Bulldogs & Frenchtons near Williamsburg, Virginia, runs an efficient and highly organized operation. The dogs live in her home and a clean environment is a must! Jean is passionate about breeding and always following the latest scientific developments in genetics and health.

She has practiced as a Registered Dietitian for decades. Jean thoroughly understands the specific nutritional requirements of dogs, especially during pregnancy and lactation. She has even gone so far as to formulate specific diets that support the unique needs of her breeding moms and help alleviate digestive issues.
Nutrition is vital during the early stages of a puppy's life and all Wizard Paws puppies are weaned on Royal Canin puppy food.​
